Dr Ajay Singh

Dr. Singh is currently working as Post Doctoral Fellow in area of Social Marketing at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, India a top leading business management college at globe (12th rank by FT). This Post Doctoral research programme focuses on the issues faced by businesses – small or large, public or private in developing and developed countries. Dr. has awarded Ph.D. on the topic - “Impact of social, economic and cultural factors on social marketing of Condom” under guidance of Prof. K.Pradeep, Team Leader, UNAIDS, Geneva. Apart from that he has completed MBA major in marketing and minor in I.T. specialization and M.Sc. in Statistics from Varanasi, UP. Dr. Singh has received a prestigious “The Rashtrapati Rovers Award” in year 2000 by Late Dr. K R Narayanan former president of India. Dr. Singh expertise lies in the area of customer psychology. He applies his research in this area to address marketing issues, such as consumer insights, branding, advertising, consumer research, customer relationship management, and customer focus.

Dr. Singh has been working past 9 years in research on social marketing, public health management, advocacy and communications with different organizations. As Post Doctoral Fellow at Indian School of Business, Hyderabad, AP, India he advised ISB & its partners USA based on the introduction of a new PG program aimed at creating leadership in area of NGO`s management and helped design curriculum, identify faculties, goal & positioning of the course. He presented the recommendation to ISB Board members. He also organized Social Responsibility conclave attended by over 300 people comprising students, academician, executives from various premier management institutes all over the country, organized India level paper writing competition on the topic of ‘developing primary education model’; received over 100 entries; Winning entry was sent to Indian Ministry of Education for the consideration. As Academic (Teaching and Assistance) he taught Social Marketing course for 570 PGP students with Prof. Sridhar Samu (Indian School of Business-Hyderabad) and Prof. Piyush Kumar (Terry College of Business, University of Georgia) and also taught Consumer Behavior course for 200 PGP students with Prof. Prashant Malaviya (Wharton/INSEAD) and Prof. Deborah Small (Wharton).

As a Consultant in J P Associates (P) Ltd., New Delhi, he was responsible for preparation and presentation of technical & financial Proposals in the area of public health, social marketing, advocacy and communications. He was responsible for conducting the baseline survey and to ensure timely submission of the project report, and liaising with UNDP, UNICEF, UNAIDS, WHO, ILO, NACO, Central and State Government of India officials. As a Project Consultant SHRC, New Delhi, Dr. Singh was responsible for review of three DFID agreements with PSI, Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust and DKT respectively and implementation of condom promotion strategy in the DFID focus states. As a Research Associate in UNAIDS, India he was responsible for preparation of AIDS Day communication campaign with strategic planning officer, budget analysis for NGO`s and data collection on research etc. As an Assistant Professor in Apeejay School of Marketing, New Delhi, he was responsible to undertaking teaching classes for MBA & BBA and was also involved in research/scholarly/ consultancy activity in the field of Social Marketing.
